To play simply make your first move and then click on " GET POSITION FROM NOVAG BOARD". I found it easiest to play as a human against an Arena Engine. If you do not see it then you are not connected. [See first pic above)Ĥ- Check that Citrine is connected by clicking on " GET INFORMATION" in the " INFORMATION" tab. ģ- Click on the first tab named " START" and click on START NOVAG SUPPORT. (I do not have a Serial Cable connection on my Laptop therefore I was only able to play Citrine with Arena on my old Desktop )ġ- Start Arena and under EXTRAS in the top dropdown menu click on CONFIGURE NOVAG -CHESS BOARD.Ģ- When the NOVAG-CHESSBOARD pop-up opens, open the second tab named " OPTIONS" and choose your COM port. Replace Citrine's LCD Display Module with Serial Cable which should also be already connected to your PC. If you want Citrine to play against a Chess Engine then leave Referee mode OFF. I am hoping that anyone who knows more on how to get the best out of Citrine with Arena will add their comments to this post.Īfter experimenting for a while, I found these steps the simplest and best sofar:īefore you replace Citrine's LCD Display Module with the Serial Connection cable I found it best to first set-up your options in Citrine.ġ) Levels - Set your required level firstĢ) Referee Mode - If you want to play as a human in Arena then turn Referee Mode ON. Tonight I played with Citrine together with Arena and here is how it works with a step-by-step guide.
